I didn’t like flowers, I just liked what they have
Last Saturday was Valentine's day, and like always, the fiancé and I hung out in Discord while still far from each other.
It was a great day. He was playing his game, I was crocheting. We were watching Papa Meat videos talking about our day, our plans, other people, etc.
When he went to sleep, I continued with my project. When I went to sleep, he went and continue his game.
It wasn't until the noon of February 15 when I was browsing Instagram that I remembered "People do give flowers on Valentine's Day."
Seeing all these posts of people with a bouquet of flowers suddenly made me feel envious that I don't have one. However, I was clear early on in our relationship that I actually don't like bouquets of flowers.
Not to be bitter or anything. My reason has something to do with clutter. My boyfriend would pick a rose for me and we'd put it in a vase. But having a bouquet of flower means having plastics and papers that I wouldn't use ever.
With that said, why am I suddenly getting jealous that everyone had a bouquet and I didn’t?
Probably because I want to belong. Well, here's a reminder to myself not to like things just because people like them... I need to go hardcore on my Instagram. It's time to block all the posts and just see messages.
