My current skin care routine
This will sound vain, but each morning when I look at the mirror, I can't help but say "wow, you look nice." I don't even wait for people to tell me this, I just know I look nice.
I have come a long way from being an acne-ridden woman with PCOS. I haven't had a breakout in a while, and it feels nice! I definitely got my confidence my back. So, I'm listing down the products I'm using if anyone needs a reference or somewhere to start. I highly recommend consulting a dermatologist to build your routine especially if you have sensitive skin.
2020 vs 2025
Here's what my skin used to look like.
The Routine
AM (or when I wake up)
- Facial Wash: Deoproce Green Caviar Facial Cleanser with Sea Jewel
- Vitamin C: Deoproce Green Caviar Vitamin C Ampoule with Sea Jewel
- Moisturiser: Deoproce Green Caviar Moisturiser with Sea Jewel (optional, only when I feel like my face is dry)
- Tinted Sunscreen: Deoproce UV Defense Sun Cream Special Edition (when I go out) or Normal Sunscreen: DEOPROCE UV Sunblock Cream (on a normal day)
PM (or when I sleep)
- Facial Wash: Dove Beauty Bar (when I use pro-retinol) or Deoproce Skin Rescue Cleansing Foam (when I don't)
- Moisturiser: Deoproce Green Caviar Moisturiser with Sea Jewel (optional, only when I feel like my face is dry)
- Pro-retinol: Dr. Belmeur Red Pro-Retinol
How I chose the products
It will be cringe if I say I didn't choose the products, they chose me... But to be honest, I feel like that's mostly how it went.
A few years back, I was looking to buy a new sunscreen. I wasn't too happy with the previous one I was using. I was lucky because Deoproce had a sale. I bought one, and I was happy with their sunscreen.
A few months later, I finished my Dove beauty bar, and decided to try a new facial wash. Again, how lucky am I there was a 50% sale at Deoproce. I bought a facial wash and the ampoule. That's how it started. I am happy the results so I don't have any reason to change anytime soon. I've been using them for a good 2 years now.
The pro-retinol from the Face is, you guessed it, bought from a sale. While I do think it's too lightweight for me, I'm happy that I don't get any breakouts since I've used them. I've used Dr. Belmeur for a year now, and I am looking into trying other, probably a retinol, not a "pro-" one.
Conclusion
Building a skin care routine is a very personal process. While this routine works for me, it might not work for you and your skin type so make sure to research. Stay confident!
