My love for British comedy shows

I don't know where it all began, but I fondly remember I stumbled on a Would I Lie to You video on YouTube after watching hours of Whose Line Is It Anyway (USA Version). I love watching stand up comedy, and by 2018, YouTube has already crafted a great algorithm to feed my obsessions.

WILTY is my first introduction to comedy shows from the UK. It's chaotic, noisy, witty. Right up my alley.

I binged it for months, watched every clip available on YouTube when I could still bear the ads.

I then got introduced to 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, The Last Leg, Taskmaster, Big Fat Quiz, QI, and so on. I was particularly fond of WILTY and Taskmaster, which I still watch today.

My fiancé doesn't understand how I find the dry humour funny, I don't know either, I just do. Nothing can make me laugh like a maniac than non-sense and word "technicalities."

Like when Lee Mack was supposed to convince David's team that the Aussie guest is not his friend who he got in trouble with in his younger years. He was telling a story of how they "fried" their friend's sock and her mom got mad at them because of it. He was asked how he fried it, and he proceeded to talk like he's in a cooking show. He was also asked why the mom got mad, he said "Well, we were frying an underwear." Rob said, "Sock is not an underwear." Lee said, "They are where I put them." It was a quick and hilarious response if you ask me.

Another memorable scene I love is from Taskmaster Season 3. The participants were tasked to "sweat the most." Paul Chowdry sweat a lot and it had a dark color. Greg asked why, Paul answered "I creamed myself." Greg replied "You say that like it's standard practise."

One thing I love about these shows as well is they've been running for a long time, and they only have a handful of episodes per series.

WILTY only has 9 episodes per series. Taskmaster has 10. 8OO10CDC has around 8, I think. They're easily bingeable and digestable. It makes every episode memorable.

At this time, I'm currently catching up on Taskmaster. I just finished series 19. I might watch the AU and NZ series in the next few days, as well. They're really fun.
