What happened in July

I'm writing this on October, I am 3 months delayed with this post, but I owe it to myself to keep writing about life, especially since I've always dreamt of being a diarist. I always say this but I don't write as much. Typing is kind of fun this time around, I bought a new keyboard and it's nice on the ears.

All right, so where do we begin.

July was my last month in Argentina, and so, we spent my last weeks traveling around!

We went to Lujan

image We went to the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Luján. It's not the first church I visited in Argentina, but definitely the most iconic.

The architecture of the church is gothic. We got to roam around, and I also enjoyed some Argentinian church music while we're at it. I'm not going to lie, church music in Argentina are bangers.

I also bought a bunch of rosaries for my friends back home. The santeria was surprised that I was buying 17 rosaries, I had to explain that I am from the Philippines, and my friends are mostly Roman Catholics (like most of the population.)

After checking the church, we went to a campo.

My first tenedor libre at Tomas Jofre

Tenedor libre means all you can eat (or unli or eat all you can in Filipino.) It's a more rural area filled with local visitors. We went to eat at restaurant called 'Siete Vacas.' Tenedor libre here is so different from what I'm used to.

They serve the courses separately. You have appetisers, pasta, steak (all you can finish!) and desserts! I got a flan that I absolutely looove.

We went to a hot spring

On my last weekend in Argentina, we went to a hot spring resort to get some heat in the middle of winter.

img This hot spring in Argentina is way different from the hot springs that we have in Laguna. It's wide and very touristy. You have some grass you can walk on, you have food stalls. I guess it's almost the same as what we have in Pangasinan, but definitely not the same as what we have in my hometown.

I saw capybaras

img I finally saw capybaras on my last weekend! They were munching invisible grass by the side of a closed restaurants. They're an entire family! I was so delighted!

I got engaged :)

My boyfriend and I always talked about getting married, and so when he proposed, it was never really a surprise, but nevertheless, when he gave me my engagement alfajor, I teared up.

These past few weeks, we have been in talks about planning the wedding celebration, and all the other things that comes with it there are a lot.

I went to a Southeast Asian Trip with my best friends.

I wrote about it here.

We watched a bunch of films

Final Thoughts

July was a busy month, and I remember combatting jet lag for most of my time in Vietnam. I am happy to be back home with my family and friends, and I do miss my boyfriend and his family. I can also believe that I missed Argentine food so much now that I don't have it... Hasta la proxima, Hurlingham.
